About Me
Hi! I’m Ashish Acharya, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Old Dominion University.
I am a member of the Qin Lab, working under the supervision of Professor Hong Qin. My research lies at the intersection of machine learning, explainable AI, computational biology, and trustworthy scientific computing. I study biological foundation models and single-cell transcriptomics, as well as agentic workflows for reproducible and evidence-grounded scientific analysis. My work focuses on how AI models represent biological and scientific information, generalize across datasets, produce interpretable predictions, and support reliable scientific decision-making through validation, provenance tracking, and failure containment.
Before joining Old Dominion University, I received my B.E. in Computer Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Paschimanchal Campus, in Pokhara, Nepal, in 2024.
